I just need to stitch down the hem, and I'm finally done with the linen chemise. And, I really need to do that soon, as all my pins are holding up the hem, and I need them to start on the stays! I really just need to buy more pins.

After trying it on, it's really huge, but they're supposed to be loose, right?

Plus a hat I've been working on. I don't think I've posted on it yet... eh, I don't remember. Anyway, it's just a practice at milinery, using leftover dupioni from the pink and gold dress. The crown needs to be sewn on, and I need to get ribbon and trimmings to finish it. Eventually...

Kippy decided it would be awesome to somehow dump her litterbox all over the bathroom floor at 2 o'clock this morning. Sometimes I just don't know...

Fabric Depot is having a storewide 40% off sale... ending on Saturday. Oh, why can't tomorrow be payday?! I'll probably take a trip down there tomorrow anyway to start seeing what fabric is around for the costume. I'm thinking a striped fabric for the petticoat and a solid for the jacket. And this was taken sometime after that. Akk, I don't remember. He's on the left with the upside down rifle. The one on the right is my grandmother's brother Floyd.

I've seen lots of tutorials online, and I have muslin and stuffing, so just need twill tape.

Shoes, I'm having more of a problem with. I ordered some last Halloween from Jas. Townsend and Sons, and they were too big. They've discontinued that style, and I don't like their new women's shoes. Though they're more accurate for the character, I really really like heeled shoes (I know, I know, but pretty!! and I want to be able to wear them with fancier outfits too), plus they're more expensive than the old ones!

I've heard a lot of my costumer friends list has ordered from Fugawee and liked them. I was looking at the Anna or Martha versions. I'm planning on saving up for them (I think I have time! :D)

Anyway, I was wondering how the sizing was on them. I have large feet, that are short, but rectangular and kind of wide... I wear between a nine and a ten. The Jas Townsends I ordered were 11s and exactly a size too big, so if that's anything to go off of...

Also, I love the red ones from Burnley and Trowbridge! Would they be worth the extra money? I know you can send in a foot tracing, which may be helpful.

I'm actually sewing something towards my halloween costume today. Remember that linen chemise? yeah, I didn't either until I found it while looking for something to use as ribbon for a hat I'm also currently burried in (never did find anything, though). I had abandoned it because the sleeves were waaay off, but I've fixed the armhole and I think it will work out okay.

In other news, I was up at 2:30 this morning freaking out about not finishing (or rather, not even STARTING) the halloween costume yet. My main problem is that I really have no stash to speak of. When I buy fabric, I almost always use it immediately. The only things I have on my shelves are under a yard each. Yeah, helpful. I have to go to work at the moment (blaaaaah), but I'll post a list of things I need to get done when I get home. Lists are helpful.

Some asshole set off fireworks in the hallway of my building right outside my door at literally 4 o'clock in the morning last night. I saw them going off through my peephole, but not who did it. They kept going off outside after that for a while, so I called the security line, but couldn't remember the name of the complex I'm in! Arrg!

And of course, being me, I spent the next half hour gathering all the things I'd need for when the building caught on fire and I'd need to evacuate, including a towel and box to catch the cat in. Now I have all this shit on my bedroom floor that I need to clean up. Eep.

I don't know who did it, but if it happens again, I'm calling the cops, not the security line. The worst part was that I hadn't gone to bed until after one o'clock. D:

Yesterday I received the first disc of The Aristocrats from NetFlix (the BBC miniseries, not the one that's a bunch of comedians telling the worlds dirtiest joke)and I think it's totally amazing. So far the story's been intriguing, I've enjoyed the actors and the costumes are great! It's based off the true story of Charles II's great granddaughters.

Anyway, the main reason I rented it was, der, the costumes. So far, I think my favorite has been a copper-y/bronze cloak that the character Caroline wears. EEP! Cloak love- I haz it.

Also, all the redheaded actresses reminded me how much I wish I was a redhead :)

Apparently after I got off the phone yesterday regarding that midnight shift, the manager had a freakout. Dan, the assistant manager says he freaks out over evertthing. I'm really done with the store. I feel like I can't ask for anything, and that everything I do there is wrong, even though I've covered shifts for people three times (today included) in the month I've been there. I put in an application at Barnes and Nobles before work. I just do not want to work for the manager anymore. I feel like I'm being punished for the transfer thing, even though that wasn't my fault.

I really hope I get a callback for one of the applications I've put in so far, because I don't want to still be working here in August.

Anyway, I work tomorrow from 2 to 6:30, due to the holiday.   Meep.

Oh, and the upstairs neighbors who were throwing beer cans on my porch? The guy puked over his balcony last night. PUKED.   AHHHHH

So I called into work to see about switching shifts with someone because I will be stranded downtown if I have to work until midnight, and they said there was absolutely no way I can switch with anyone, because everyone either has no car or can't work past 10 due to their availability or being underage. Nevermind that my availibility from Eureka (open to 10 pm) was supposed to transfer (and apparently didn't, like everything else).

I'm so angry and frustrated with the whole thing. There's a big chance I'm going to end up stranded downtown and I cannot afford to take a cab. They said they could let me out fifteen minutes early, but that won't do any good, due to the transit schedule. They're just so unflexible, especially when it comes to things like this, and I feel that it's putting my safety in jeopardy. Not only do I have to take the bus and train, but I also have to walk several blocks that are sketchy at night.

I'll be picking up applications tomorrow for other places. This is just another thing in a long line of ridiculous things at this location that I'm not willing to deal with any more. It's not worth it.

I'm on the schedule for next week working until midnight. The last train leaves the mall at 17 after, but the last bus I could catch leaves at 24 after. It's a fifteen minute train ride, so I'd be stranded downtown after midnight. I don't think so! So I have to ask for a change and I'm nervous about it. From what I've seen the store manager is pretty inflexible about that stuff, but I really don't see why it would be a problem. I just hate causing a problem, but I never agreed to work past ten, and I'm one of the only ones who doesn't have a car. Get someone who has a car to work then! Plus, 90 percent of our staff is male. Don't make the girl who's new to the area and has to ride the bus work until midnight!

Anyway, the schedule doesn't officially come out until today, so I hope by catching it early there won't be a big to-do. I also hope they don't make me call everyone to try and find a replacement. I hate when companies do that. EEEP. In other news, I put in an online application for Nordstrom Rack a few minutes ago. Yeeeeeep.

It's hot.   Today was in the high nineties and right now, it's still in the mid eighties. It's hot. Poor Kippy's been sacked out all day because of it.

New neighbors moved in upstairs. Last night, they were throwing beer cans on my porch. I was talking to my mom on the phone when it happened and, since it was hot and the sliding door was open, they heard me. The one guy came down and was standing in front of my porch, staring in at me, and then kept saying that the wind blew the cans off the railing. Right.    They kept rollicking to Kanye West until past midnight, so I went into the office this morning to complain about the littering and the noise. Apparently a lot of other people complained too.
Well, they're all out on their balcony again tonight, all talking very loudly and all at once, most of their conversation containing drunken "fuckbitch"es. Hahah What? No Kanye though... yet.           Errrg. They just better not be chucking their trash onto my porch again though.
